Newt’s Shot

Newt Gingrich is very smart.

His ideas are well-developed and his policy proposals are thoughtful.

Fortunately, he has a narcissistic disorder, an unpleasant personality and a reputation as an immoral guy who failed as house speaker.

If he were to become the republican nominee, he would be a tough debate opponent for Barack Obama but would probably not pass the character test to win the white house.

In the end, he might be the best hope to stop Mitt Romney.

He’s very good at articulating conservative political principles (though very bad at living them).

Gingrich is rising in the polls because he doesn’t stumble all over himself when answering difficult questions.

Here’s a video sampler of  Newt’s nimble intellectual abilities

  1. [...] If the president’s re-election depends on facing an intellectually inferior opponent who can’t grasp or articulate complicated policy principles, Gingrich poses a real threat.  [...]

  2. [...] use her political instincts and intelligence in his fight against the belligerent – but intellectually formidable – former speaker of the house. #dd_ajax_float{ background:none repeat scroll 0 0 #FFFFFF; border:1px [...]
