Fantasytime in Obamaland

Posted on December 7, 2011 by

It seemed so grim not long ago
Republicans ascending
But now I sense a changing trend
Together with an ending

Of conservative maneuvering and other bully tactics
Used so well and skillfully with all their great theatrics
To undermine reform and change to make a better nation
And other small and big ideas to tame the corporations

Occupying Wall Street in New York and other cities
Changed the tune for everyone and isn’t it a pity
‘Cause now it’s hard for right wing pols to cater to the wealthy
Without the public getting mad and doesn’t that seem healthy

And then at last we watched and heard Barack Obama say
Waiting years and months we did for him to find his way
That the biggest problem in the land is not the budget battle
But injustice and inequity and not the other prattle

And then we get another gift for democrats at least
Which is of course the candidates who want to make their peace
With tea party conservatives who do not want to settle
For a presidential nominee who doesn’t have the mettle

To go for broke and bet the farm
On a simple right wing notion
That the government is much too big
So throw it in the ocean

And now they may have found their man – a former great house speaker
Who knows his mind and blows his horn and won’t be seen as weaker
Than the guy who won three years ago and had a tough first term
But maybe now has figured out just what there is to learn

Nope. Not Newt. too radical….listen, in his own words he said about committing adultery…”I did it because I’m Patriotic and was doing Work for America” What…will the job of President of The United States make him Unpatriotic????? I really do not want a first lady who fooled around with a married man, in the White House.

Newt is disgusting. He was disgraced in financial ethics violations, and hit the lowest low in personal ethics! He appalls me so much, I can barely stand to see his lying smirky, cheating face!

    Lou:

Newton Gingrich is damaged goods– do you really think that a guy with his serious ethical lapses while serving as Speaker of the House, coupled with his accepting millions of dollars to lobby his former colleagues in Congress for Fanny Mae/Freddy Mac, can really be elected in a general election?

Not to mention the open line of credit at Tiffany’s, or his dubious personal life, although I personally don’t care about his marital history. If none of those things ding him, that smug, condescending manner will do him in. I think he is DOA in November if he gets the nomination.

    You rhymed “battle” with “prattle”.
Just can’t do much better than that,
    … unless you’re Cole Porter.
    Nice, Lou.
    Nice.
